I figured it was about time to update my genealogy web site at catrackgraphics.com.
It is surprising how fast time goes by and how much information you can gather in just 2 years. The site expanded by 6,000 individuals, to over 26,825 and is more than 1,000 pages bigger at 4,367.
I still think Ged4Web is still the next best thing to sliced bread. It compiles my enormous 8.5 meg file into 4,000 pages in just minutes. I had the learning curve to go through once more, trying to remember where the files were that created my look and feel.
Hostway.com is the server host that I use. Their resident ftp program just doesn’t have the stamina to keep up with the upload of my web site and I found that once again CuteFTP saved the day. The interface is simple, drag and drop, and it keeps the connection real well. It still takes me hours to upload and then clean up the 3,000 old files to keep the server as slim as possible.
